From Filling Rooms to Shaping Regional Growth
Base Quadrant is a workforce accommodation provider, designed to support major infrastructure and construction projects. With a build–own–operate model and a focus on workforce wellbeing, safety, and certainty of supply, Base Quadrant plays a critical role in enabling projects to move forward without placing pressure on local housing or tourism.
Base Quadrant partnered with Customerit to transition from an accommodation provider to a strategic regional asset, influencing projects before they begin.
The Challenge
Base Quadrant initially approached Customerit with the idea of hosting a PR event to drive bookings at their main workforce village. But beneath that was a bigger challenge. The business had been heavily reliant on a single contractor to fill rooms, creating concentration risk and leaving occupancy exposed when that contract changed. A one-off event might generate short-term interest, but it wouldn’t solve the underlying issue of building a sustainable, diversified pipeline of demand.
What was needed wasn’t more activity, it was a shift in how the business went to market. Through early discovery, we reframed the brief from “How do we drive bookings now?” to “How do we position Base Quadrant to influence demand earlier, diversify clients, and support long-term growth?” That shift laid the foundation for the alignment effect in action.
At a glance
- Repositioned from camp operator to strategic regional asset
- Shift from reactive marketing to proactive stakeholder engagement model
- Built a content engine to drive credibility not just awareness
- Strengthened relationships with government, developers and tier-one contractors
- Aligned leadership around a clear growth strategy
Customerit’s Role
Customerit worked alongside the Base Quadrant leadership team to uncover and articulate the true value of the business. It transitioned its thinking beyond accommodation, to a role centred on certainty of supply, workforce wellbeing, and regional impact. By aligning strategy, positioning, and execution, Customerit helped shift the business from reactive marketing to proactive influence.
Customerit worked quickly to:
- Reframe the strategy to commercial priorities with government, contractors and decision makers
- Redefine the positioning as a strategic regional asset
- Build a stakeholder engagement model to influence and generate demand
- Create a content and visibility engine to be the thought leader in productivity, retention and economic impact
The Outcome
The real impact didn’t sit in campaigns — it sat in alignment. Behind the scenes, Customerit shifted how the business thinks, operates, and shows up in market.
- From symptoms to strategy – The business moved beyond short-term activity to a clear, long-term growth plan
- From internal thinking to external influence – Engaging government, contractors, and developers with confidence and intent
- From ad hoc marketing to structured capability – Tools, content, and cadence to consistently drive demand
- From supplier to strategic partner – Positioned as essential to project success, not just accommodation

The Invisible Value of Alignment
Customerit’s work went far beyond marketing. It brought structure and clarity to a business that already knew its strengths, but needed a clear way to articulate them and take them to market.
Base Quadrant had a strong model, deep operational capability, and a clear understanding of the role they could play, but without a defined marketing function or strategy, that value wasn’t being fully realised externally. Customerit helped align that capability to a clear strategy and message, giving the leadership team the confidence, language, and tools to show up in market with intent.
This is the Alignment Effect — where what a business knows internally is translated into how it shows up externally, creating clarity, consistency, and momentum for growth.
